You can ignore complete subdirectories - just put the directory name (with
no path) in the .cvsignore file. Works for me.

Seems to be no way to use .cvsignore or alike (-I, CVSROOT/cvsignore or
$CVSIGNORE) to ignore complete subdirectories?
