[cvsnt] cvs95 Password problem

When I try to use the command "cvs95 passwd" on a client running window 98
connecting to a cvsnt server with cvs95 from either WinCVS or from the cvsnt
install the program crashes. What I have tested the connection from multiple
clients, I am using pserver for this, and I can successfully connect from
Win2k/XP, RedHat 7, and SuSE 8.2 and it has failed on every one of three 98
machines. the commands login, checkout, update, and commit all seem to work
on all machines no problem. can anyone help me with this?
