No idea.  If you can try connecting from another PC... it just might be 
packet corruption.  Another idea is to copy the cvs.exe and 
*_protocol.dll from the server into the WinCVS installation, so they're 
the same version (shouldn't make a difference, but at least it's good to 
eliminate that).
