instead, I am forced to use a file share. Ie:
cvs -d :ext:keith at server2://server2/g-drive/cvsrepo

I think you could probably get it to work using this:

cvs -d :ext:keith at server2:/e//network/g-drive/cvsrepo/

so /e:/ should be /e//
