[cvsnt] Criteriea for backing up CVSNT

The CVSNT repository consists of ordinary files that are mostly not in use.
They can be backed up by any backup utility. But to make sure you get a good
snapshot you could enhance the process by:
net stop cvs
(backup cvs repository)
net start cvs
Regarding the files, yes I think you can copy them over and use them.
But I have mostly heard about people going the other way and then you have
to look out for the "friendly" file corruption WinZip offers when unpacking
the TAR files.....

In the same context, is it possible to simply copy the files to a *NIX
box and have the standard cvs work with them, or do we need the *NIX
port of cvsnt?
