Just thinking of those issues that sometimes occur only on multi-processor 
PCs:

When you say 50% - is that the total over both the processors or has it maxed 
out one at 100%?  Also if you set the CPU affinity for the lock service 
process to just one processor before it starts using too much CPU, does it 
then continue to work as expected?
