[cvsnt] Safe way to delete an entire module

What is the safest way to delete an entire module from the CVS server

running version 2.0.14
client tortoisecvs 1.6

I have access to the repository, so could delete the folder, but wanted an
opinion first.

My first attempt at setting up CVS. Been following the clear guide at
http://www.cvsnt.org/wiki/InstallationTips and I need outside users to
access the CVS over an internet connection. Accordingly I figured I would
alias some user names to get onto the system.

However I get the following output:

cvs [passwd aborted]: Can't authenticate - server and client cannot agree on

.. and even if I try to set up a regular user (myself) using...

.. I get the exact same response. Was looking through the mailing list
archive, but could only find
http://www.cvsnt.org/pipermail/cvsnt/2003-October/009048.html which doesn't
really provide any clues.
