Hi there,
after two months of not using cvs, I started a new development cycle.
I also updated the cvsnt server to 2.0.35 and my cvs client (smartcvs fiona
12).
as it turns out, no matter what I try, I cannot establish a (cvs) connection
to the server machine anymore.
the server machine itself is up (ping) and well.
In despair I also tried to re-install back-level versions of both, smartcvs
and cvsnt - no success!!!
I'm running WinXP sp1 on both the client and the server machines.
I'm pretty much dead in the water now!!!
When I try connecting thru the command line (pserver) I get the following:
export CVSROOT=":pserver:hanshorn at hanshorn:/"
(hanshorn at HANSHORN)/C:.../home/hanshorn> cvs login
Logging in to :pserver:hanshorn at hanshorn:2401/
CVS password:
cvs [login aborted]: reading from server: Connection reset by peer
No AV software is running.

p.s. if it is of any help, here's the output from Tony Hoyle's cvsdiag tool:
