Tony,
The server is a digital unix box. I'm pretty sure it's running CVS
10.8, but I can check next week. There is absolutely no chance
whatsoever to upgrade this.
Regards,
Arthur

Can't make it happen here...
D:\develop>cvs edit d:\develop\test1.txt
cvs [server aborted]: absolute pathname `d:/develop' illegal for server
D:\develop>cvs edit test1.txt
D:\develop>cvs edit test1.txt
test1.txt tmh Wed May 12 11:04:23 2004 GMT Monaco
D:\develop
D:\develop>cvs unedit test1.txt
What server version is it? Recent cvsnt & cvshome.org servers won't
allow you to specify the absolute path in the first place, so it doesn't
get a chance to fail later on.
Tony
