[cvsnt] Help Needed for User Management with CVS

HI,

            I am trying out with 'lsacl' and 'chacl' commands, but it is
giving following error, for both cases:

 

D:\scm\cvsroot>cvs lsacl CVSROOT

cvs lsacl: in directory .:

cvs [lsacl aborted]: there is no version here; do 'cvs checkout' first

 

D:\scm\cvsroot>cvs chacl uma:rw Experiment

cvs chacl: in directory .:

cvs [chacl aborted]: there is no version here; do 'cvs checkout' first

 

 

What is the meaning of this error? And What do I need to do, to be able
to successfully execute these commands?

Help me our, please.
