FYI, 1864 fixes the problem I saw with the corrupted previous versions.

Is there a way we can append to the test suite you are using, so now 
that I have steps to reproduce this problem it can make it into your 
automated suite?  I'm not even sure what it is you are using, but I've 
seen you mention it a couple times.
