It's broke.  Unfortunately 'fixing' it could have some rather nasty 
effects and is better waiting until I work out the new core (not an easy 
problem with modules, modules2, renames, plus the physical directory all 
to be merged into an end result, but it'll work 100 times better when 
it's done).
