Kylix is not dead yet, but somewhat "frozen" right now. Borland did not 
had the return expected and has been not investing in in for a while. 
Plans are not clear, now .NET is the main aim of Delphi.

Give a look to Free Pascal and Lazarus, for a Delphi compatible cross 
platform compiler and IDE.
