Windows 98 isn't a tested platform any more (and cannot be debugged as 
no debugger exists for it).  It may work but may not.

If it breaks completely I'll probably drop support for it in the 
released builds.. nobody has reported any problems with 58d though in 
the 5-6 months it's been out.
