[cvsnt] Excessive delays with files > ~800KB

Run the command from the command line with a trace, and the
date/time/second of each step is recorded so you will "see" exactly
which commands/steps are slow, eg:
cvs -ttt diff hello.txt

Also please send some other useful information about the file, eg:
cvs status hello.txt
dir hello.txt

> Server: Linux, CVS 1.11.2

This version is very old, I'd recommend upgrading to CVSNT for Linux
2.5.03.
