Now, come on... there are a number of companies that hire programmers for
work on open-source projects, aren't there? There are also any number of
university employees who open-source their work. All these get paid up
front. That's not a strange or rare concept.

Well... whenever two entities start to talk about collaboration, someone
has to start proposing terms :)

Well, what I was writing about seems to be different: something like a
stock exchange for copyrights. Companies /could/ own the rights if they buy
them. But this has nothing to do with cvs(nt), so I'll try to keep my mouth
shut now :)
