Are you using a front end client like WinCvs?
In that case you can use Import from Remote/Import module.

My advice is to *not* use the default settings, instead you should:
- Check the checkbox "Don't create vendor branch..."
- Enter the name in the repository of your new module in "Repository
path" 
  It is supposed to be a path relative to the root of your repository
  and it must use forward slashes like so:
  ADMIN/MyProject
  This is where your project files will go on the server.
- Make sure that that CVSROOT box contains a valid connection string:
  :sspi:cvsserver:/Repo
- Enter a good message..
- On the tab "Import options" check the checkboxes:
  "Use the file's modification time as the time of import"
  "Create CVS directories while importing"

This will convert the folder structure you are importing from into
a CVS "sandbox" (checked out file set) and you can immediately start
using it.

Hi,
 
I just installed cvs and want to add a new module.  Should I use cvs
import or cvs add?  I did searches on the internet and both were
recommended.   The new module should start a new trunk.
