Limiting factor is that on a shared host, I don't have root.
The problem that s biting me is that CVSNT's repository innovations have made conversion of history improbable. Multiple convertions have resulted in corrupted data.
CVSNT's been good, I just want out of repository management. I have code to write.

I don't really follow what you are trying to do here, but I
suspect that you want to move your existing CVSNT server to a
Linux platform. Is this correct?
In that case are you aware that CVSNT is a cross platform system,
that it is available both for Windows and Linux?
Tony Hoyle, the principal CVSNT developer, has used CVSNT on
Linux for many years to maintain his CVSNT source files.....
Your best bet would be to install the latest CVSNT server on your
Linux machine and then move your existing repository files over
to the new box. Then the compatibility issues will not arise at
all.
Concerning shares, don't even think about accessing a CVS repository
via file sharing on the network! There are numerous issues that
makes that a no-no!
Best regards,
Bo Berglund

I looked through the archives but didn't see a reference to
possible use on a shared linux host. I have a repository which
unfortunately embraces some of CVSNT's advanced features and
conversion to cvs and subversion has not worked for me.
(I've got to get this code repository off my local box)
Is there a known way to install a local binary that I could
use through SSH?
Thanks in advance
