Unrecognized auth response usually means the protocol isn't installed or 
possibly isn't enabled.

What's also possible is a firewall/antivirus is messing around with the 
communication... although the only one I know for sure does that is 
nod32 - the major ones (norton, mcafee) seem to be OK with this.
