[cvsnt] help: cvs [server aborted]: could not open lock file '/repository/directory/, file.ext, ': File Exists

C:\>cvs version
Client: Concurrent Versions System (CVSNT) 2.5.04 (Zen) Build 2471 
(client/server)
Server: Concurrent Versions System (CVSNT) 2.5.03 (Scorpio) Build 2382 
(client/server)

A colleague of mine is having this issue while trying to commit a set of 
files.
cvs [server aborted]: could not open lock file 
'/repository/directory/,file.ext,': File Exists

I looked in the repository commit directory and noticed the ,file.ext, 
file - and removed it.
I watched the server repository commit directory while he was committing 
file.ext, and the ,file.ext, file appeared again, and he received the error 
again.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
