if I remember correctly, OSX is supposed to have fairly tight integration 
with MS Active Directory via Samba, although it's been fairly heavily 
modified to work with various OSX GUI tools and has some extra bits added 
to make it compatible with OSX's OpenDirectory product. Plain old 
authentication should work without too much trouble.
