Yes.  You end up with all sorts of issues with line endings, slightly 
different versions of cvs, timestamp issues, etc. if you share sandboxes 
over network shares.  The -N option is there so you can tell the system 
you know what you are doing and can handle the consequences and won't 
come back here for support when it breaks...
