Please upgrade the server to 2.5.03 or 2.5.04.  Note: you can copy the repository to another machine (eg: your desk or laptop) and test with the new build there.

10:24:31:   -> close_directory()
cvs server: Up-to-date check failed for `version.properties'
cvs [server aborted]: correct above errors first!

You have not enabled 'clients are allowed to trace server' so you are not getting any worthwhile trace.
