[cvsnt] console messages sent to the server?

Hi,
from this message seems that client is sending console messages to the server during login.

cvs -d :sspi:admin at htsxppc0/CVSROOT login 
Logging in to :sspi:admin at htsxppc0:2401:/CVSROOT
Can't authenticate - server and client cannot agree on an authentication scheme (got '')
invalid command name "Logging"

Any idea?
