You can best view the contents of the history file with the "cvs history"
command. This will display date/time information i a readable form. You'll
have to specify options to make "cvs history" display whatever you desire.
I suggest:
cvs history -e -a -D "2 days ago"
(lists all activity for all users the last couple of days).
But remember that if the files are missing due to some non-cvs activity, it
will not appear in the history file (or anywhere else for that matter).

Hello,
I posted an issue via my colleague, Khalid Sheikh, yesterday regarding some
missing files in my repository. He is out of the office at this time, and I
do not have direct access to post questions on the newsgroup at this time.
I thought maybe you might have some additional thoughts on my issue.
Updates to my issue:
I have restored these missing files from a backup and shortly after more
files were mysteriously missing. This time in another directory. Somehow,
those files also "re-appeared" this morning, and now my repository is
complete again, though I cannot safely say that it has stablized. I have
been attempting to view the history file to see if I can see a pattern
with some of the codes (since I cannot decipher any date/time stamps).
I have not ruled out a virus or other hazardous condition on the share
drive where my repository is stored.
Thank you again, and I aplogize for having to contact you directly,
Corinne A. Mescher
