Are the linux installs installing both CPUs? Also check the hard disks
and controllers are being recognised:
eg:
# hdparm -c -d -m /dev/hda
multcount = 0 (off)
IO_support = 1 (32-bit)
using_dma = 1 (on)
Model=Maxtor 6B250R0, FwRev=BAH41B70, SerialNo=B60RG8NH
Config={ Fixed }
RawCHS=16383/16/63, TrkSize=0, SectSize=0, ECCbytes=57
BuffType=DualPortCache, BuffSize=16384kB, MaxMultSect=16, MultSect=off
CurCHS=65535/1/63, CurSects=4128705, LBA=yes, LBAsects=268435455
IORDY=on/off, tPIO={min:120,w/IORDY:120}, tDMA={min:120,rec:120}
PIO modes: pio0 pio1 pio2 pio3 pio4
DMA modes: mdma0 mdma1 mdma2
UDMA modes: udma0 udma1 udma2 udma3 udma4 udma5 *udma6
AdvancedPM=yes: disabled (255) WriteCache=enabled
Drive conforms to: (null):
My drive is using udma6, 32bit I/O and dma which makes it pretty fast.
You can also check dmesg:
hda: 490234752 sectors (251000 MB) w/16384KiB Cache, CHS=30515/255/63,
UDMA(133)

Seems valid enough for the purpose you used it... benchmaks are always a
bit subjective anyway.
